Copy Editing is the final editorial stage before proofreading. We reserve this service for manuscripts that have already completed the earlier steps in the editing process. Performing a copy edit on a draft that has not been structurally or stylistically refined does not serve the author or the reader.

Can I provide a custom style sheet?
We use The Chicago Manual of Style as our foundation, since it is the publishing industry standard. However, we also recognize that every author and every series has its own style. If you already have a custom style sheet, we will review and integrate it into our process. Your preferences for spelling, capitalization, punctuation, or in-world terminology are incorporated through our external style sheets, ensuring your manuscript keeps the same tone, rhythm, and voice you have built. Our goal is to maintain consistency and professionalism while preserving what makes your writing distinct.
Do you make inline edits to my manuscript?
No. Our Copy Editing is delivered through a detailed chapter-by-chapter report rather than tracked changes inside your manuscript. This method allows us to explain each correction clearly and highlight recurring issues that affect accuracy and consistency. You will see what needs to be corrected and why, so you can apply those changes directly in your file while keeping full control over your final text.
How long does it take to receive the Copy Edits?
Most reports are delivered within two weeks. You’ll receive a confirmation email with an estimated delivery window once we’ve received your manuscript.
