Stylistic (Line) Editing that keeps your voice,
and makes every sentence shine
What Is Stylistic (Line) Editing
Stylistic Editing is where your writing comes into its own. Once your story structure is solid, we move line by line to refine expression, rhythm, and tone, enhancing clarity and emotional impact while keeping your unique voice intact.
This is where good prose becomes great: every sentence crafted for flow, readability, and resonance. Our goal is to make your manuscript feel effortless to read, polished, professional, and immersive, while preserving the creative signature that makes it yours.
Cora Press Stylistic Editing includes:
- Sentence-by-sentence revision for rhythm, tone, and pacing
- Refinement of dialogue, transitions, and paragraph flow
- Elimination of repetition and overwriting
- Consistency of tone and point of view
- Word choice optimization for clarity and impact
- Light correction of mechanical issues that affect flow
This stage doesn’t restructure your story or alter plot elements. Those areas are covered in the Editorial Review and are expected to be corrected before starting with Stylistic Editing. Instead, Stylistic Editing bridges the gap between raw creativity and publish-ready prose.
Flat-rate Stylistic/Line Editing pricing for indie authors — no math required.

Stylistic Editing (also called Line Editing) focuses on the language itself, including the rhythm, flow, tone, and clarity of your writing. We revise sentence by sentence to improve readability and impact while preserving your unique voice and style.
.
Some editors only review a portion of your book. We feel that the entire book needs to be reviewed in order to give you a comprehensive assessement.
Our professional review includes:
- Executive Summary – A clear overview of your book’s marketability, genre positioning, and core strengths
- Character Development – Are your characters well-developed, believable, and evolving meaningfully?
- Plot and Structure – Does the story have momentum, clear stakes, and effective pacing?
- Worldbuilding – Is your world immersive, consistent, and integrated into the story?
- Genre Fit & Audience Appeal – Does your book meet genre expectations and deliver on reader promises?
- Theme & Emotional Resonance – Are the emotional and thematic threads well-developed and impactful?
- Revision Roadmap – A phase-based guide to revision, from Critical Issues to Minor Enhancements
- Tailored Suggestions – Concrete, actionable recommendations based on your manuscript’s genre, tone, and goals
- A Publisher’s Perspective – Insight into what might prevent a publishing company from acquiring your manuscript and why
This is high-level story craft guidance, meant to help you revise with purpose. It does not include line editing, grammar correction, or formatting, which are covered in other editing processes.
Not quite. Stylistic Editing focuses on the craft of writing, improving how the story reads on the page, while Copy Editing focuses on technical accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and consistency.
No. Our Stylistic Editing is delivered as a detailed editorial report rather than direct changes inside your manuscript. This allows us to explain the reasoning behind each suggestion and show patterns that affect your writing style across the entire book. You’ll have the insight and examples you need to revise with confidence, while keeping full control over your voice and decisions.
We’re offering limited-time pricing as part of a special outreach campaign to help indie authors discover our services. Our editorial team is all US-based and adheres to professional editorial standards (PES). We provide the same quality you’d expect from editors charging 2–3× more. We’re simply making it easier to say yes—for now.
If you’ve already completed an Editorial Review (sometimes called an Editorial Assessment) and revised your manuscript accordingly, you’re ready. Editing works best when done in a specific order. Jumping ahead too soon can waste time and money, and may leave you improving sentences in a story that still needs structural work. If you haven’t yet gone through an Editorial Review, we recommend starting there first.
At this time, we do not offer Editorial Reviews for books over 120K words. If you’re close, we recommend trimming for pacing and impact. Very long books often face higher editing costs and publishing hurdles unless you’re an established author with a built-in audience.
Most reports are delivered within two weeks. You’ll receive a confirmation email with an estimated delivery window once we’ve received your manuscript.
You'll also be able to track the editorial process in your Author Portal.
